Toxic Spark Media is a global new media network featuring a variety of celebrity and TV personalities. One of the up-and-coming blog networks worldwide, Toxic Spark’s network reaches nearly 175 thousand unique visitors and receives nearly 450 thousand page views per month.
Im the man behind this new media network, Andrew MacDonald. I’m a twenty three year old Aries and live in Plymouth which is located in the United Kingdom. I am the founder of the Toxic Spark Media network, and will be the person who runs the company on a day-to-day basis. A little info about me, where ive come from, what ive done, and where i see our business going in the future.
I began my web development career nine years ago; I love what I do; I took a simple hobby and made it into my life’s work. My family consists of my parents Andrew & Janet, two younger sisters Kelly and Laura, my gorgeous nephew Thomas, and my playful pooch Zoe.
My First Jobs:
I have always been described as very business savvy; my first jobs were mowing lawns and delivering newspapers. I delivered newspapers for five years and the experience taught me a lot about business. I learned how to predict trends, how to create profitable business opportunities, how to be organized, how to attract customers, and how to market products to clients.
DigitalTRAX:
DigitalTRAX is a company I started while I was a student in secondary school. I was fifteen years old at the time and I worked very hard at starting up this business. I worked at a local pub at night and went to school during the day.
Every penny that I made went to my business endeavor; I purchased a lot of my own equipment so I could turn my part time evening job at the local pub doing discos into a well paying full time job. It took me about eighteen months to finally get DigitalTRAX off the ground.
I really enjoyed seeing my hard work pay off in the end.
Life Lessons:
I have learned a lot of life lessons since I started my career in business. Like most eighteen year olds, I was irresponsible with money and lived well above my financial means. I thought that having the best equipment would help me have the best business but the best equipment is very expensive. This caused me to get deep into debt; I was so bad off that I almost had to file for bankruptcy.
I picked myself up by my boot straps; my parents offered to help me out financially but I wanted to rely on myself, not my parents. I wanted to pay my own way and be my own independent person; I didnt even file for unemployment benefits. Sadly, I had to sell my disco business to pay for my living expenses. After this, I started my own web site that advertised my web design services. I was very surprised at how many people requested my services. I was a novice at first; but slowly I learned more and more about web design and my customers were very satisfied with the results.
Swift Media UK:
My company Swift Media UK was established in 2004, partly funded through the £20,000 I received for DigitalTRAX; it was a content and technology development company. The company flourished from our original company, FLASH 9 Internet Services which was started in 1997. We do business all across the globe and help our clients cater their businesses so they can compete and offer their products and services online. We provide our clients with both consultation and programming services so they can be as profitable as possible.
Toxic Spark Media:
At the beginning of 2008, I decided to change gears from creating web sites for customers to creating a network of my own web sites. I love to be creative and this lead me to make the decision to sell my web design company and focus on setting up Toxicspark.com to showcase the network of websites. A majority of the web sites that I will create are celebrity news and fan based sites. These sites rely on revenue and traffic in order for them to become profitable.
I started this business venture in January 2009 and I already have fourteen of my thirty five web sites online and the profits have far exceeded all earlier projections. This has made me feel great about Toxicspark.com’s future.
Parting Words:
My parting words to anyone who reads my biography is that if you work hard then you can achieve whatever you set your mind to. I started out as a young kid; I made my mistakes. I mowed lawns and I delivered papers, and now at twenty three years old I own my third business. Dreams do come true; you just have to be organized and put together a plan to make them happen.
